I've broken my own rule about giving priority to submitting new material to publications versus submitting reprints. After Crystalwizard, the managing editor of Abandoned Towers, asked permission to reprint my fairies and dragons illustrations, I couldn't resist sending her a hearty helping of prevously-published poems as well.
So, several of my previously-published poems and illustrations now appear in the on-line version of the zine Abandoned Towers:

"Gothic Window" and its accompanying illustration, "Things in the Swamp" and its accompanying illustration, "Sorcerous Evolution" and its accompanying illustration, "The Banshee's Cry", and "The Haunted Isle" all appear in the "Poetry" section. My science-fiction poem "Cosmic Journey" appears in the "Science-Fiction" section.
Just click on the links for the appropriate sections on the Abandoned Towers home page, and then click on the links for the individual works. Be sure to check 'em out, since some of the works hadn't appeared on-line before their publication in Abandoned Towers. _________________ "I'm going to do what the warriors of old did. Wow, your work is totally inspiring. Thank you for sharing - it brought some warmth to my cold frost-bitten winter morning. _________________ To be evolved, is to be removed from the negativity |

The managing editor of Abandoned Towers will be using several pieces of my art on Zazzle merchandise. And my illustration "Book of Dimensions" may be amongst those used.
I'll keep everyone informed regarding what art is used, and on what.
Also, it looks like the editor will use the poem "Book of Dimensions" in the print version of the magazine. However she won't be using the illustration in the zine, since it costs too much to print interior colour illustrations.
It always helps when you find and editor/publisher that really likes your work! _________________ "I'm going to do what the warriors of old did. I'm going to recite poetry!" |

I believe you have a brilliant gift for visuals, whether illustrated or described. I hope you keep exploring in that unconcious/sub-concious world. We all need to be more connected to it.
Things do seem to be happening for you, I can sort of feel it. Step by step. Just keep following it intuitively like you are. _________________ Do not stare directly into the avatar... |

Well, it's official - my poem "Book of Dimensions" will be republished in the print version of Abandoned Towers. And the managing editor will try to use the poem and its accompanying illustration on merchandise. However, the illustration won't appear in print - it's too expensive to print colour interior illustrations.
As for following the path of rich visuals - I've been working hard on illustrations for my forthcoming poetry collection. And the contract has been sent back to the publisher, so it's now "officially forthcoming", as it were.
Yesterday I completed one of my weirdest illustrations yet. It's based on the imagery in one of my odder poems, one written just for the collection, "What Greets Me at the End". The title of the illustration may give you a hint as to the subject matter - "Old Scratch Dressed in Suit and Tie". _________________ "I'm going to do what the warriors of old did. You will all just have to wait until the collection is published. I have to hold something back to create demand. _________________ "I'm going to do what the warriors of old did. I'm going to recite poetry!" |
